To many people, making golf accesible to young people from disadvantage neighborhoods was impossible. But since 2008, the Crocogolf project has successfully taken up the challenge.
This pilot project created by the Fondation LACOSTE in partnership with the Fédération Française de Golf, the Golf National and the Communauté d’Agglomération de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines allows 24 children aged 7 to 14 from Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines to play golf every Wednesday morning, with 120 other pupils from the École du Golf National. They can also play out on the green on weekends with their parents. Eight of them, enrolled in a more intensive program, attend extra lessons on Saturday and play in a series of competitions all year long. Given the success of this pilot project, two Crocogolf programs have since been initiated in the north of France.
