While golf is not traditionally popular in the US or in France, it is even less so in Tunisia. But the Centre de Promotion du Golf in Djerba, founded in 2006, aims to open up the world of golf to disadvantaged youngsters from villages around Djerba.
Every year, 26 children discover this new world each weekend. By playing golf, they also discover new horizons: vacation courses and competitions organized throughout the country give them the opportunity to explore beyond their everyday environment.

In addition to the sporting aspect, the organization also provides social support for youngsters facing academic or family difficulties by running learning support sessions.

The Fondation LACOSTE has supported this project since 2008.

Actions on the Green

We owe the passion for this sport to René Lacoste’s wife, Simone. Thanks to our Foundation, 4000 young people each year have the opportunity to have fun and to improve on the greens.

Actions on the Court

In tribute to René Lacoste, the Foundation supports associations with a key focus on tennis. Each year, this allows more than 8,000 young people to discover and play tennis.
