The UGANDAN GRASSROOTS TENNIS PROGRAM aims to give young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in Uganda a brighter future through sport. The organization provides around fifty children from Kampala with free tennis courts and lessons as well as physical instruction.

Today, the children spend two hours twice a week at the Lugogo tennis center in Kampala. In this secure environment, the youngsters train to improve their tennis skills. Through regular participation in the program, they can subsequently apply for scholarships to attend local high schools, or even European or US universities if they reach the required level.
The Fondation LACOSTE has supported this project since 2013.

Actions on the Court

In tribute to René Lacoste, the Foundation supports associations with a key focus on tennis. Each year, this allows more than 8,000 young people to discover and play tennis.

Actions on the Green

We owe the passion for this sport to RenĂ© Lacoste’s wife, Simone. Thanks to our Foundation, 4000 young people each year have the opportunity to have fun and to improve on the greens.
