For 35 years, Israel Tennis Center (ITC) has been striving to keep Israeli children from underprivileged neighborhoods off the streets by running a program based on tennis.

In Acre, a northern Israeli town where social troubles are particularly rife, sixty children come to ITC outside their school time. For ten months, these young people from all religious affiliations learn to live together in the tennis school. The coaching team includes sports teachers but also psychologists and social workers who encourage the children to develop the values of tolerance and cooperation, so fundamental to flourish in their multicultural environment. Each year ends with a one-day tournament at the Acre tennis club where the program participants play against children from five other towns.

The Fondation LACOSTE has supported this program since 2011.

Actions on the Court

In tribute to René Lacoste, the Foundation supports associations with a key focus on tennis. Each year, this allows more than 8,000 young people to discover and play tennis.

Actions on the Green

We owe the passion for this sport to René Lacoste’s wife, Simone. Thanks to our Foundation, 4000 young people each year have the opportunity to have fun and to improve on the greens.
