Alter-Egaux is a nonprofit organization based in the north of France whose mission is to assist children facing personal, family and social difficulties.

To help them find their way in life and build a future, the organization decided to place sport at the heart of its educational project. Thanks to funding granted by the Fondation LACOSTE, Alter-Egaux allows a dozen youngsters to play tennis on a regular and long-term basis at the Valenciennes Tennis Club. This pilot project is based on a solid method involving regular assessment of how tennis impacts the young people’s lives. Based on results, the organization eventually hopes to expand the program to about thirty young people.

Actions on the Court

In tribute to René Lacoste, the Foundation supports associations with a key focus on tennis. Each year, this allows more than 8,000 young people to discover and play tennis.

Actions on the Green

We owe the passion for this sport to René Lacoste’s wife, Simone. Thanks to our Foundation, 4000 young people each year have the opportunity to have fun and to improve on the greens.
