L DANS LA VILLE TEENS TOUR TROYES FACTORY

“L dans la Ville” is one of the many programs offered by the nonprofit organization, Sport dans la ville, which is supported by the Fondation LACOSTE. This program, which works with the 790 girls served by the organization, helps them achieve personal growth and assists their transition from school to work.

In April 2016, 15 high school students from disadvantaged neighbor-hoods in the Paris and Lyon areas toured the LACOSTE factory in Troyes with their two counselors. During the tour, they learned how knitwear is manufactured and learned about all the occupations involved in making a garment, from the yarn to the finished product. This visit may have inspired some of the girls to follow in the workers’ footsteps because they showed a great deal of curiosity and asked a lot of questions.

“I would like to thank all the Lacoste factory employees for taking the time to talk about their jobs. Thank you to everyone for this successful visit.”
