MAY, 21

The Foundation chose Roland Garros as the special venue to celebrate its anniversary. It all began very early in the morning, at children’s day at the Paris Tennis Club, where eight young apprentices from Auteuil measured themselves up against Nathalie Dechy. Although most of them were beginners, they turned out to be extremely agile and gave the great player a run for her money!

Then, a press conference and a cocktail in the René Lacoste lounges on the tournament site brought together many representatives of the French local and sports press. Beryl Lacoste Hamilton presented the Foundation, its film and its new internet site to journalists, the representatives of the associations supported by the Foundation, and the young apprentices of Auteuil in the presence of the Lacoste management.

During the afternoon, Beryl Lacoste Hamilton hosted around 60 young apprentices of Auteuil and young girls from the L Dans la Ville association for a visit of the Roland Garros Lab and told them the story of the ‘Musketeers’, the legendary tennis team that included her grandfather, René Lacoste.

Actions on the Green

We owe the passion for this sport to René Lacoste’s wife, Simone. Thanks to our Foundation, 4000 young people each year have the opportunity to have fun and to improve on the greens.

Actions on the Court

In tribute to René Lacoste, the Foundation supports associations with a key focus on tennis. Each year, this allows more than 8,000 young people to discover and play tennis.
